24 Hour Crisis Line for families in need

Kids Kottage operates a crisis line for parents, caregivers and families in need 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The crisis line offers emergency triage, information, support and referrals to community partners. Parents can call the crisis telephone line any time, day or night, for support and assistance. When caregivers call the Kottage:

They hear a live person with an understanding ear and heart ready to listen

Whether or not the children are admitted, help is available to make a plan to handle the current problem and stop future ones

Parents and Kids Kottage Family Support workers work together to set goals and create a plan to reach them

They agree to take steps to fix the problem

Once a call is received, our trauma-informed crisis call team assesses the situation and works with the caller to determine what help is needed and how to best serve the family, whether that is through admitting the children to the Kottage, referring the family to one of our community partners, and/or providing appropriate support and encouragement.

Children in need of admission undergo an assessment of the crisis, and admission or pending admissions are based on bed availability.
Our Kids Kottage crisis line team is dedicated to ensuring children are safe, families are supported and help is given to all in need.
