Kid Kottage Foundation relies on the generosity of our community to help us do the many tasks that are too big for our staff to get done every year. Your support of our organization and the work you do helps our staff get jobs done that we normally cannot find the time to complete.

* To help cover materials, staff time, and resources, we have a suggested serve cost for group volunteer experiences. It’s a guide—not a requirement—and flexibility is always available. If cost is a barrier, please still join us—your participation matters most.

Application

Kids Kottage requires that each person volunteering with us as part of a group, complete an application form. If you need help with the volunteer application process, or for any questions or concerns, please contact our Kids Kottage info@kidskottage.org for more information.

I Want My Group To Volunteer

My Group is Volunteering

🍪Baking

Bake snacks and treats for children. Additional baking needed during holidays.

Frequency: Monthly
Group Size: Up to 5 volunteers
Suggested Contribution: ~$150

🍳Cooking

Prepare nutritious meals for children in the Crisis Shelter. Supervised by full‑time kitchen staff. Meals are batch‑cooked and stored for the month.

Frequency: Monthly
Group Size: Up to 4 volunteers
Suggested Contribution: ~$150

📦Donation Sorting

Assist in organizing and deep‑cleaning the sorting center used for supplies and donations.

Frequency: Monthly (High need during holidays)
Group Size: 2–5 volunteers
Notes: Includes lifting; dusty environment - masks/gloves recommended

🫧Cleaning (Indoor)

Deep clean our space (walls, windows, playrooms, railings, toys, etc.)

Frequency: Monthly
Group Size: Up to 20 volunteers
Suggested Contribution: ~$250

🧹Seasonal Cleaning (Outdoor)

Deep clean our outdoor space (decks, windows, toys, sheds, etc.)

Frequency: Seasonally (availiable monthly from May to September)
Group Size: Up to 20 volunteers
Suggested Contribution: ~$250

🌱Gardening

Plant flowers, herbs, and vegetables in spring; Fall cleanup in October.

Group Size: Admin: 5-10 | Shelter: 5-20
Suggested Contribution: ~$500–$1000 depending on location
Notes: Includes soil work and carrying supplies.

🎊Special Events

Assist with set‑up/take‑down, décor, coat check, greeting guests.

Frequency: Depending on events schedule
Group Size: 5–20
Notes: Roles vary depending on the event.

🖼️Seasonal Decorating

Decorate the Crisis Nursery and Admin building for the holidays.

Group Size: 5–15 volunteers
Suggested Contribution: ~$300+
Notes: Creativity welcome; final designs approved by Kids KottageAssist with set‑up/take‑down, décor, coat check, greeting guests.

Your support will be directed to where the need is greatest at the time. This may include any of the activities listed above, or other tasks where your help can make the biggest impact.
