This October, Kids Kottage is proud to be part of Urban Barn’s Blanket the Country campaign. For more than a decade, Urban Barn has been giving back through this nationwide initiative, donating over 70,000 blankets and nearly $90,000 to charities across Canada. This year, they are taking it one step further by pairing each of their 54 stores with a local non-profit to make a direct impact close to home.

Here in Edmonton and Sherwood Park, Urban Barn has chosen to support Kids Kottage.

From now until October 31, customers who visit Urban Barn can make a suggested $5 donation at checkout, either in-store or online. Every dollar raised will be matched by Urban Barn, doubling the impact for children and families in our community. Donors will also receive a thank you gift of 20% off regularly priced décor on purchases of $100 or more between November 1 and 23. The giving does not end there. Customers will be able to continue donating $2 or more at checkout all year long, from November through September.

“Kids Kottage is Edmonton’s only crisis nursery, a safe haven where children can come when their families are in crisis,” says Ashley Brosda, Executive Director of Kids Kottage Foundation. “We provide emergency shelter, care and support so children are safe and parents have the space to work through challenges. The incredible support of Urban Barn and its compassionate community of customers strengthens our ability to protect children and walk alongside families during their most vulnerable moments, creating comfort and a sense of home when it is needed most.”
